A UFO done, hurray for me.

This quilt is the second quilt I have done with these fabrics.

This one is more scrappy within one fabric line. 

I found this pattern in a Australian Patchwork magazine. 

The flowers are machine appliqued, but the vine is hand embroidered.

I used up all my left overs from the other two quilts to make the backing. 

I echo quilted around the flowers and vine, quilted big flowers and meander on the inside of the quilt to keep it nice and soft.

Frozen and so quiet

Originally I just wanted to take one photograph  for my Sunday pictures of my frozen backyard for you. But all these picture show you how frozen every thing is in my yard.  Since the 1st of January this what it looks like around here. I have noticed the absence of my squirrels and birds, even the crows are not hanging around for this cold.

They have probably gone to Florida. 

That is where I should be too. 

My husbands holly covered with ice. 

The pine trees are white with frost

My grass plant still looks green, so I am not so worried. 

The hens and chicks plants are doing well. 

If you look real close you can see the ice spikes in the dirt.

For days now we have had his frozen fog, I can barely see my neighbors house .

Where is the sun and warmth?

Grand daughters Saturday sewing projects

Haleigh, my oldest grand daughter ( she is 12 years old ) 

 made a frog that is filled with rice that you can warm up in the microwave.

I love the fabric she choose.

                                                           

The under side is light lavender. 

Leah finished her pillow made with scraps

 and she tore up some old batting pieces to stuff it. 

This is her daytime side. 

Leah will be nine next month.

This is her night time side, it is flannel.

I am proud of both of the girls, they did very well and stayed on task.

It has been cold and sunny lately here in the Pacific Northwest.

 We have a bit of snow, and evertyhing is frozen. I love it!

Cute-Orange-Christmas Present

My Christmas present form my wonderful friend Jeri. 

It is so cute, it is orange and I am in love with this little machine. 

This machine works with electricity, batteries and can you believe it, even per hand cranking.

Zu Weihnachten von meiner wunderbaren Freundin Jeri bekommen. Niedlich, orange in der Farbe und ich bin total in sie verliebt.

Diese kleine Naehmaschine lauft elektrisch, auf Batterien, und mit der Hand.

I love the color, and that she is so shiny.

Die Farbe ist doch klasse, und sie ist so cool.

Just look at this tiny foot petal. 

Schaut doch mal das kleine Fusspedal an. 

There is the little handle.

I am going to down load the instructtion manual, and maybe I can get her running.
