Fun Day with the Grand Daughters

I had my three grand daughters over for a sleep over , and we got creative making journal covers. We will have to finish them the next time they come over, but I totally love the differences in each girls design and color choices. 

This one is Chloe's creation.

And here is Haleigh's.

I will have the girls learn to sew with the sewing machinesome other time,  and than they can finish their journal covers on their own. 

I had a lot of fun, and it was a great day to spend in my new sewing room while it rained outside. 

Quilt Exhibit Klingemuenster

 Before we left Germany, I got a chance to go to a small town to a quilt exhibit. I liked this window quilt, made witha crochet center.

Ich hatte noch die Chance in Deutschland eine kleine Quilt Austellung zu besuchen. Dieser kleine Fenster Quilt hat mir sehr gefallen, mit einer gehaekelten Mitte.

This table decoration was great.

Die Tischdecoration war nett.

Auch die Fenster Box hat mir gut gefallen.

The best was Igot to spend time with my sisters.

Das Beste war das noch etwas Zeit mit meinen Schwestern verbracht hatte.

Mt. Rainier

 

We moved from Germany to the beautiful Pacific Nortwest . This is Mt. Rainier , about 21.000 thousand feet tall. I love this Mountain, it is an awesome sight. If you drive towards the mountain and than off to the right, that is where we will be living.

Wir sind von Deutschland zum schoenen Pazifischen Nordwesten USA gezogen. Das hier ist ein Bild vom Rainier Berg, ganze 7.000 meter hoch. Falls du in diese Richtung faehrst und dann rechts, da ziehen wir hin.

Wishblock

Since we are moving from Germany back to Washington State I got to request a going -away-block from my guild. I had appliqued hearts for the last 8 years, and I used those for the wish block.

Da war ja gerade beim umziehen sind von Deutschland nach dem Staat Washington durfte ich mir einen Abschiedsblock wuenschen von meiner Gilde. Ich hatte seit 8 Jahren diese Herzen appliziert , und die dann genommen fuer meinen Wunschblock.

 

First I thought I would like this lay out,  the log cabin, but decided that I didn't .

Zuerst hatte ich gedacht das ich diesen Block moegen wuerde,den Logcabin, aber es war net so.

Than I thought of a simple 4 patch to go either on the left or the right of the heart. 

This is going to be pretty, don't you think?

Dann dachte ich an den einfachen 4 patch der dann entweder rechts oder links an das Herz genaeht wird. 

Das wird ein huebscher quilt, meinst du nicht auch?

I am thanking all my freinds for making me a going-away block. Ich danke alle meinen Freunden fuer das machen einen Abschiedsblocks.

Moving- Cleaning!

Ich sollte ja eigentlich sauber machen und meinen Krams organizieren, viel Zeit habe ich ja nicht. Aber ich wollte euch meinen Schaetze zeigen die mir meine lieben Freunde genaeht haben. Sind die nicht super!

 I am supposed to clean and organize my houshold stuff, so I don't have a lot of time . But I thought I  would show you some of my treasures that wonderful freinds have made me.  Aren't they super!

Nephew's quilt top done!

I finally got the top done of my nephews quilt . I did add a one inch strip between the stars to reduce the thickness where the star points meet, and it did not take away from the overall pattern. Now off to quilt it, and than the binding. Since my wonderful hubby helped me for 1-1/2 hour to take out the paper on the back, I am rewarding him with these........   

Yummy, chocolate-chocolate chunk pecan cookies.

Ich habe endlich den top fuer meinen Neffen fertig. Ich habe eine smallen Streifen weissen Stoff zwischen den Sternen genaeht , das die acht Naehte nicht aufeinander kommen. Das hilft und dem Muster macht es nichts aus. Jetzt nur zum quilting , binding und dann fertig.  Da mir mein Liebster geduldig 1-1/2 Stunden geholfen hat mit mir das Papier herauszureisen, wird er mit diesen belohnt. Schokolade mit Schokolade Stuecke und Pecan Nuesse Kekse.   

Lovely exhibit in the church in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

We are having company, and so we visited the lovely town of Rothenburg. While my husband and our visitor went to the dungeon, I stayed behind and by chance go to go here. Lovely things, don't you agree?

Wir haben im Moment Besuch, und wir haben die nette Stadt Rothenburg besucht. Waehrend mein Mann und unser Besuch die historieschen Gewoelbe besucht haben, hatte ich die Gelegenheit eine kleine Austellung nebendran im Rathaus zu besuchen. Das waren so tolle Sachen, meint ihr nicht auch?

This old door was attached to a new door and painted.

Diese alte Tuer war auf einer neuen Tuer aufgeklebt und toll bemalt.
