Lovely bowl of glass balls.
Hello, glad to see you here. I hope you stay a while and enjoy what I am doing. I am a quilter, but I also blog about my life and where I live at the moment.
It is always my birthday
And I like a lot. My friends know this and let me be. Great friends.

Leah's quilt is done!
Leah choose this gorgeous chocolate brown flannel for her border and her backing fabric.
Her theme fabric was animals on beige and yellow background, we liked the blue and cream alternate squares with it.
It is so cuddly, her Opa would like to keep it.
I am so proud of Leah for doing such a great job!

Sunday Outing Pictures
Just a few pictures from our annual Christmas trip to Watson's nursery in Puyallup, Washington
A cute Dr. Seuss tree.
Look who is peaking out of the greenery.
Lovely wooden snowman.
These two caught my eye.
I like these stars. Or snow flakes?
Winter wonderland setting.
This was a real cute miniature display.
I am not sure which tree I like better. The green ones or the white ones.
Owls are in this year.

Blue Tree-orange tree.
This is my favorite painting in my house. I bought it before I left Germany on 2011 from this artist Joan Louis, you can see his work here. I just fell in love with the blue tree on the orange back ground.
So when a friend of mine gave me this hand dyed doily I knew what to do with it.
I made an orange tree on blue background to go with my picture.
I added a few flowers, a butterfly and a frog.
A different friend is having a birthday this month. I hope my little post card gets there in time.

The wedding quilt is done!
I have been working on this quilt on and off for about 4 years. And finally it got done and giving to the wonderful couple. Some of my friends in Germany helped make the friendship blocks, in purple and green and blue. The attendees at the wedding signed good wishes on the blocks , and I assembled the top . I found the perfect border fabric at the quilt shop on Vashon island. I quilted it with loops to represent the blending of the couple , who both have been married previously and have children from these marriages and to avoid quilting on the writing and coloring.
The quilt is 98 inches by 98 inches,
big enough ( still ) to cover the family.

Chloe first quilt .
My grand daughter Chloe got her first quilt done. She did 90% herself.
I am so proud of her and hope she keeps up quilting and sewing. She did the quilting on my long arm machine, I only did the first and last row. I assisted with the binding, everything else was done by Chloe.

A visit to the Fair.
I like the State Fair here in Puyallup Washington. I am always amazed at the talented people that live here in my area. My favorite exhibits are the craft pavilions, and the vegetable hall. Here are a few photo's I would like to share.
You all know my Christmas Tree fetish. I just had to take pictures of these.
I thought of my friend Angela when I saw this one.
My friend Jeri's Dad make birdhouses, I wonder if he would make a bunch for a birdhouse tree.
And who could resist a Smore's tree. Just lovely.
This is entirely made out of wood. Amazing! The details is so wonderful!
Ha ha, a dodo bird.
For my friend Billa , isn't she cute!
Somebody showcased a whole collection of handkerchief's, and there was a wonderful collection of trolls. I did get as many pictures as I wanted, but I hope you enjoy these.

Sunday Picture
Dash Point Park, Federal Way Washington. This was a hollowed out tree segment done by nature like a wooden canoe. I like how the water reflects the trees overhead.

Modern Quilt Guild Challenge
The last challenge for the modern quilt guild from Germany was circles. You can check them out here: I have always wanted to make a circle quilt, and so I got started right away before summer. I had two small layer cakes in black/white that I wanted to use, and choose a green as my circle color. I had so much fun making different circles in different methods, hand appliqued, machine appliqued or both. I made the circle in different sizes and even cut some of them in half or quarters.
This is the finished quilt.
I wanted to add some yo-yo's and buttons.
I quilted the circles all different, some even by hand.
The background is quilted in a soft meander, since I did not want to get the meander on the circles.
This was fun, and I now have to think about the next challenge from the Modern Quilt Guild Stuttgart.
