Garden and Glass in Seattle ( Dale Chihuly ) Lots of pictures!

Thanks to my friend who is visiting with us right now I was able to visit the Seattle Garden and Glass which is right next to the Space Needle.

This was in the entrance, all made of glass with blown sea creatures all over the piece about 18 feet tall.

I love the green spokes next to the red spikes.

These reminded me of snakes.

A boat full of glass fish and some Japanese fishing weights.

I wished I could have a chandelier like that in my home.

Glass dishes anyone? These are about 4 feet in diameter , if not more.
These were all on the inside exhibit, than we came to the outside exhibit.

A glass banana tree.

My favorite, orange cranes with a round ball.

I like the black ones too.

And the blue lily's.

Just beautiful.

I just got to have those.

And for my friend I took a picture of the purple ones. I love the combination purple and grey .
Besides all the beautiful glass creations the garden was done to compliment the glass.
I took so many pictures of the garden, if you are ever in this area I highly recommend going there.

Surprise Package

I almost stepped on this surprise package this morning going to my mail box to get my mail.
It was from Susanne. A while ago she had a give a-away at her blog and I won. Besides making the blogger happy when you leave a comment, it can also lead to nice surprises.

Oh goody, these are the items that were in the package.
I wonder how Susanne knew I love orange, lol!
Self dyed fabrics, gummy bears, napkins, thread, lovely card, a magnet, and a tin box that can hold the buttons I received.

A wonderful journal hand made, the fabric is self stamped and quilted.

A wonderful smelling fruit tea, and I just had to make some, even so it is about a 95 F outside (31C ).

So I did it american style. With Ice! Yumm!
Thanks Susanne, you made my day.

New chairs

These are the chairs that I have had now for 10 years.  The fabric was so so, and it was stained,  but I like the fit of the chairs.

My wonderful husband went to JoAnne's with me to pick out this fabric, bought it (it was on sale )  and than he did all the work. I love the new covers, they look so different.

Looks like I have a whole new dining room . I may need new table cloths ,  but what do you think? And thanks honey, you are the greatest!

My friend's Grangmothers Flower garden quilt

This Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt is sewn by machine. My friend Alma's Mom made this long ago form her clothing and Alma's clothes.
Now I get to quilt it as my first business quilt, and I am sweating bullets.

I am quilting 70's flower power flowers on it , and a  meander with leaves and some roses.
So far I like it a lot, I hope Alma does to.

This is the finished quilt, red -white and blue.

I did  loops and stars in the border.
The background ia the same blue, but I went ahead and did red-polka dots in the binding.

Six month into the BOM from the local quilt shop

I can't believe we are halfway through the year for the BOM.
I like making the blocks and taking my time to enjoy the journey.
Some times it is good not to be in a rush to get something done.
This is April's block.

And May's.

Month of June.

Last month I received the lovely setting block fabrics.

This is the setting block, and ARGH! I have to make 20 of them.

This is the quilt lay out. I do like it and can't wait to get my border fabric. They are wonderful.

Who can't resist making minis out of the left overs.
They are to cute!
